History of ABC
In 1958 Chicago police officer, James Faust, Sr., saw a need for automotive security systems after becoming aware of the increasing number of vehicle thefts and break-ins. He soon started moonlighting installing security systems that he made with some parts from RadioShack. Soon after, the business grew so large that he quit his job on the Chicago police force and officially opened a business known as ABC Auto Alarms. He started manufacturing his line of security systems which arguably were the first mass produced auto security systems in the world. He began selling these products world wide and used his ABC stores as test grounds for his creations. His manufacturing turned into a multi-million dollar business so in 1989, Mr. Faust sold off his ABC retail stores to his sons John and James Jr. Mr. Faust Passed in 2005 but his developments in the automotive security industry are legendary.
ABC is widely known as Chicago’s leader in automotive electronics and has completed over 100,000 installations. The business has now run by the founder's sons Jim and John Faust and has been diversified to include custom audio, mobile video, remote starting systems, vehicle safety, emergency and first responder solutions, vehicle restyling, truck and car accessories and much more!
